Well-being is a skill

Dr. Laurie is excited to partner with The Umbrella Project, a mental health initiative that proactively addresses the growing mental health crisis by teaching children and parents a collection of skills to protect them from the rain of life.  The Umbrella Skills specifically help to re-frame our perception of challenges and strengthen the skills of well-being to positively cope with the everyday stresses of life.

Dr. Laurie is actively working to to bring mental wellness strategies and skills to children and their families both at home and in schools.  In private consultations Dr. Laurie will assess and identify your child’s unique coping strengths and growth opportunities, and uncover parenting best practices and tips to help your family choose well-being, even on the rainy days.  In schools Dr. Laurie delivers classroom workshops, educator training, professional development seminars, and parent talks.  A teacher-led curriculum and school based program is available for grades K-12.

Because the Umbrella Skills have been proven useful for people of all ages and are accessible to all demographics Dr. Laurie also conducts Professional Development workshops for community groups, teams, in the workplace, and any other groups looking to increase it's members' adaptability and coping skills.
